Suspension Bridge
This suspension bridge spans 20-feet across a creek and can sustain up to 2000 lbs at its weakest point (as has been tested multiple times by Tennessee’s now famous storm surges). The bridge features ¼” marine-grade braided steel cables that we tightened using four 9” turnbuckles. Having used a router to cut ¼” channels for the wire to run along each step, we then secured the steps to the wire with connection plates and then slid them on one by one. Wood collars are used to minimize damage to the trees that hold each end of the bridge and heavy duty rope serves as a handrail.
